If elected to be your Ingham County Prosecutor,  I will return to the basics.  The Constitution is on the page with Nick’s background.  This magnificent document created our government.  It is the only source of government authority and gave its three branches the power to operate and the duty to reign in the other branches.

 

On this page, the Bill of Rights is highlighted to remind the government that the power to govern is in the hands of the People unless they choose to give it to the government.

 

The prosecutor is uniquely positioned to control both the liberty of accused citizens and the power of the executive branch of government.  I will honor this obligation by remaining true to this MISSION STATEMENT:

PRIMARY MISSION: To protect the rights of citizens to be free from the oppression and fear of crime while protecting the rights of defendants to due process and a fair trial;

 

To exercise the power of the executive branch of government with restraint while aggressively using all lawful methods to perform the primary mission;

 

To work cooperatively with all government entities involved in the criminal justice system while holding them accountable when they fail to pursue the primary mission;

 

To use taxpayer resources efficiently and effectively while performing the primary mission with professionalism, loyalty, and integrity.
